Ever have these thoughts?
- I deserve a better car.
- I deserve a bigger house with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- I deserve more opportunities.
- I deserve to be treated with more respect.
- I deserve more money for my hard work.
- I deserve longer vacations.
- I deserve the recognition for that.
- I deserve an iPhone 32g 3gs. (maybe that’s just me : )
- I deserve to live more comfortably.
Sometimes we can be so spoiled. Thinking we deserve something. This is how I fix myself when I start feeling like this.
I say, “Jon, SHUT UP you moron!!!!” Then I read Proverbs 14:3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
As ministers and ambassadors of Jesus Christ we must rely on Him, trust in Him, and be contempt in Him. We must not be our source; rather, He must be our source. God is a creator, the Creator. He creates and we respond. Don’t get caught trying to create your life, opportunities, or material things. If you do you will find a spoiled little brat in the mirror.
God creates – we respond.
I deserve death, but because of His blood I now receive grace (life) freely. I’m glad I don’t get what I deserve.
My prayer: God you are Creator. You hold the world in Your hands. Sorry for getting stuck on myself many times. Help me to have Your heart, to be meek and humble. Help me to see people through Your eyes. As I do Your will I know You will take care of all of my needs.
I refuse to celebrate the holiday and miss the Man.
Thank You Jesus for all that You have done for all mankind. You bore the cross, shed Your blood, died and rose again. You are the Living God that gave it all for the hopes of me giving it back to You. God, I give it to You today. This broken and humble spirit is Yours. Forgive me where I have failed You, forgive me where I have not given all, not listened, and not obeyed. Purify my heart, make me whole. I long to spend eternity with You, Risen King.
